BackAnimal health camp cum Farmers’ scientist Interactive Meet under MSSP Malpura sheep at Lava village of Malpura tehsil

Animal health camp cum Farmers’ scientist Interactive Meet was conducted under MSSP Malpura sheep at Lava village of Malpura tehsil on 09/04/2021. A total of 35 progressive sheep farmers from MSSP Malpura sheep project attended the camp. At first a total of 830 animals (570 sheep and 260 goat) were treated with different diseases.  Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI and other scientists Dr. S R Sharma, Dr S J Pandian and Dr D Sharma from animal health division, Dr Leela Ram Gujar and Dr Ranglal Meena scientist from TOT&SS and Dr Amarsing Meena, Scientist and Dr P K Mallick, PI, MSSP Malpura unit of AGB division were present in that programme. Mr Chogalal Gujar, member of Jeela Parisad was also present as a guest. Dr P K Mallick, PI of the project detailed about performance of native breed Malpura sheep breed improvement programme and importance of this germplasm for improving farmer’s livelihood security. Dr Tomar Director of the institute interacted with farmers of MSSP and emphasized on adoption of scientific technology to bring improvement in the flock and also rear more number of healthy animal instead of low yield animals. He also suggested to farmer to make a sheep breed society in your village for better marketing. He advocated to farmers for breed improvement of Malpura sheep in village Lava. Dr S R Sharma, In-charge, Division of Animal Health, described different health issues in the field area which are incurable, and recommended effective measures to avoid the spread of infection. Dr L R Gujar I/C extension scientist, spoke on importance of functioning of sheep breeders’ society in the villages. During the interactive meet, farmers were raised their sheep health issues put up their views and interacted with different subject matter specialists. Dr. P. K. Mallick, Principal Investigator of Malpura sheep project coordinated all the activities of said health programme. Dr Amarsingh Meena, Scientist thanked the officials, guests and farmers who have attended the meeting.
