Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit

The Government of India has selected CSWRI as one of the Central research institutes under ICAR and given National Knowledge Network (NKN) connectivity @ one gigabit bandwidth under the national project. All servers and network activities of CSWRI have migrated to NKN network. The computational power of CSWRI has been improved with over 50 latest Intel i7 desktops, HP DL580 servers and secure Fortigate gateway systems. Centralized uninterrupted power supply system with redundent backup has been established with AKMU. The New website of CSWRI has been developed on 14.08.2012 and is being maintained regularly.

Library of CSWRI


At CSWRI Avikanagar Library is a part of knowledge management under A K M Unit. The speciality of this library is well known for its specialized vast information resources in the field of sheep, goats and rabbits and their product utilization. It has rich collection of publications in animal and veterinary sciences and other allied fields of agricultural sciences. Institute library is well equipped with CD ROM SERVER providing access to database facilities through Local Area Network (LAN) to the users at their desktop. At present, library has 10430 books, 11475 back volumes, 1117 office rules and regulations and 111 Master and Doctoral theses. To keep pace with the recent development in the sheep production and product development, library added 47 books and subscribed 30 foreign journals, 81 Indian journals and 22 free / gratis journals. In addition maintained the CD and database collections were raised to 82 sets including CAB database, AGRIS, WTA CD etc.
