BackA Team Leader of South Asia Pro-Poor Livestock Policy Program visited to ICAR-CSWRI



A training program on demonstration of oestrus synchronization and artificial insemination in sheep was organized at the institute from Feb. 04-10, 2015. Ms. Varsha Mehta, Team Leader, South Asia Pro-Poor Livestock Policy Program, New Delhi presided over the valedictory function of as a chief guest. The program was sponsored by Central Wool Development Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. Participants from Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan have joined the training program. On this occasion, Drs. R C Sharma, A Sahoo, Dhirendra Singh and Dr Davendra Kumar have shared the latest achievements of their respective departments. Dr. Davendra Kumar, Course co-coordinator informed about practical activities, demonstration and hands on training to be conducted under the program. Dr. S. M. K. Naqvi, Director, ICAR-CSWRI has addressed importance of AI technique in the small ruminants. He has mentioned the indigenous and cost effective fixed time AI techniques developed in the institute. The chief guest has motivated all the participants to disseminate AI technique at grass root level and to propagate the technology among sheep farmers. She also stressed upon to take feedback on post training activities. During her visit to institute, she appreciated the research infrastructure and achievements of the institute.  She also visited the institute adopted village and farmers flock in field, in which the institute has provided research inputs under farmer’s participation program.  The program was coordinated by Er. Vinod V Kadam, I/C HRD, ICAR-CSWRI.
