BackNational Science Day 28-02-2013 Celebrated at CSWRI Avikanagar
National Science Day -2013
Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute celebrated “ National Science Day” on 28th February 2013 at Avikanagar. Over 150 students belong to Kendriya Vidyalaya Avikanagar, Rajasthan State High School Avikanagar, Saint Kabir Academy, Malpura, Sarvodaya School, Malpura were participated in this Event. The students were informed about the CSWRI Avikanagar and its research activities through audio video display.
Dr.S.M.K Naqvi, Director, CSWRI in his address motivated the students about the importance of science in life. He elaborated about the scientific achievements of Indian scientists and encouraged the students to think of science during their day today activities.
Shri.A.K. Gupta, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, Jaipur graced the occasion as chief guest and asked the student to take up carrier in science and technology and wished the student to become scientists in future.
Dr. Sahoo, Head (Animal Nutrition) in his address stressed the importance of science related to DNA and genetic modification in the present scenario.
Dr. Dhirendra Singh, incharge, HRD section in his address informed that the theme of National Science Day-2013 is genetically modified food and food security. As part of the celebrations, Dr.Gopal Gowne delivered an inspiring lecture on “Recent Advances in Science” with special reference to sheep, rabbit and wool. The students were shown in sheep, rabbit sectors and wool processing plant as part of the programme.
